Several
of the University of California campuses -- including programs from
Davis, Irvine, Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Francisco -- play
substantial roles in providing health care services to San Joaquin
Valley residents and training medical professionals in the Valley.
About 40 to 50 percent of the doctors trained locally stay in the
area to practice.
