Building on its mission to increase educational access for students in the Central Valley and throughout California, UC Merced is expanding students' access to orientation by bringing its New Student Orientation program to Fresno.  Additional orientation sessions are being held in Atwater, Merced and Bakersfield.

Incoming undergraduate students will have an opportunity to meet the chancellor; register for their first classes; take placement exams; meet faculty during "office hours;" meet with academic advisors; and attend "College 101" sessions on everything from financial aid and campus security to library resources and recreational activities.  A program designed to orient parents to the student experience at UC Merced will be presented concurrently.
