Fall Community ArtReach exhibit at UC Center, Fresno features photography by Scott Shaver

Fresno – The UC Center, Fresno celebrated the opening of its Fall ArtReach exhibit with a reception, which was held on Thursday, Sept. 4 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The event, one of the Fresno Arts Council’s ArtHop venues, is open to the public free of charge. Artists will be available to answer questions about their work, and refreshments will be served.

The featured artist is Scott Shaver. Shaver’s photographic collection, “Tree Sightings,” captures the beauty of trees in various locations, shapes, sizes and colors.

The Fall Community ArtReach exhibit comprises oil, acrylic, watercolor and mixed media paintings, color photography, metal sculpture and ceramics.

Additional participating artists include Heather Anderson, Michael Biasell, Linda Erickson, Karina Faustino, Hazel Hofman, Yumi Kinoshita, Linda Koch, Suzanne Lawson, Andrea Lewis, Ann Lewis, Varian Mace, Robin Gay McCline, Sue McCline, Alan Reynolds, Chris Sorensen, Kikuku Young and Yolanda Zafra.

Community ArtReach is a collaborative effort by volunteer staff members at the UC Center, Fresno including representatives from the UC Office of the President, UC Merced, First 5 of Fresno County, the SCCCD Center for International Trade Development and Morris & Co. Fine Arts. The program’s aim is to support and encourage the creativity of Valley artists and expose the community to fine works of art.

The exhibit will be ongoing from Sept. 4 through Nov. 6, and is open to the public during UC Center, Fresno operating hours. The UC Center is located at 550 E. Shaw Ave. (across from Fashion Fair Mall.)
