offers summer biomedical internships for Valley high school students

UCSF-Fresno
is accepting applications from San Joaquin Valley high school students
who are interested in careers in medicine and health care for its
14th Summer Biomedical Internship (SBI) Program. Students in their
junior year of high school may apply to work with members of the
UCSF-Fresno faculty on a variety of research projects. As part of
the program, students will visit the UCSF campus in San Francisco,
observe an operation, and tour UCSF-Fresno research sites. This
year, students will also have the opportunity to shadow a resident
physician for the day.
Applicants
will be judged on academic merit, responses to a questionnaire,
and letters of recommendation from instructors. Students from Fresno,
Madera, Merced, Kings, Tulare, and Mariposa Counties are eligible
to apply. The program runs from mid-June to mid-August. For an application,
